Josh Jung named AL Rookie of the Month for April
Josh Jung, our 2019 Collegiate Slugger Award winner, has had an impressive start to his rookie season, and now has been named the American League Rookie of the Month for April.
Jung batted .270/.324/.500/.820 (27-100) with 6 home runs, 5 doubles, and 21 RBI over 26 games through the end of April. His 6 home runs and 21 RBI are the most ever by a Texas rookie before the end of April, surpassing the previous highs of 5 home runs (Adolis García in 2021) and 16 RBI (David Murphy in 2008). He finished the month leading all American League qualified rookies in runs (18), RBI (21), and slugging percentage (.500), tied for first in hits (27), doubles (5), and home runs (6), and second in batting average (.270).
